Status Updates From Under the Midnight Sun

getting near the end, so nervous... final 70 pages and still not a single scene of them together in sight. at least i can finally say i'm starting to have some pretty good theories ab what these two's relationship actually is

this puzzle has quite literally been eating up all my waking hours, on paper & in my head. cause tell me why i'm on vacation and i have to be calculating/analyzing which character knew who from what connection at what year in which chapter. all this to say... i'm being absolutely fed. i love this so much!!!!

i am really starting to question my morals because i kinda have an idea where this is headed and i know it's wrong but i want to root for them

i have very complicated feelings about ryo but i'm kinda rooting for him

actual goosebumps... the way higashino unveils plot twist after plot twist using one very minor detail, after chapters of build up, is incredibly masterful. my breath catched.

at the end of every chapter, these two are shown committing something even more scarily horrendous than before. and even when i think i can sense where it's going, the twist still leaves me reeling. actual psycopaths.
