Status Updates From The Manual for Good Wives

“The women in our family were not expected to be happy. They were expected to ensure their husbands were happy, to sire children, boys to continue their husband’s line and girls they could raise to do it all over again for another man.”

This line shows up so much in historical books and I just feel so so much sadness for the women who came before me. What a very sad life they lived.

I just love the way this author writes !

I think this author loves past and present POVs. I’m not complaining though
