Status Updates From Forty Acres

I'm barely 20% in and the writing is having something to be desired as though the book is under baked. It feels choppy and rushed even for a thriller. I'm guessing if I look into it I'll find out it's a debit novel. I'd try the author again, but I'm not sure I can finish this nevermind recommend it.

I took a gander at the reviews and it is wild how many people are upset and saying that this is unrealistic. This is nothing more than a mild depiction of slavery but with the race reversed. It is crazy that people don't know or care to acknowledge the atrocities of slavery and the fact that it happened for over 400 years 🤯🫠
