Status Updates From Fragile Truths (The Shadows...

This bok started out badly because I couldn't get the swing of the language differences and there were some editorial issues. Then it got a WHOLE lot better and I kinda sat up and took notice. Well, alas, that did not last and it's lapsed into a totally unbelievable, stereotypical erotic/BDSM platform instead of what could have been an interesting study in human nature. But, it's not over so there's hope yet.

Finally getting the hang of the language and the book is growing on me.

Just getting underway with this book. I am having real difficulty following the language and some, to me anyway, editorial miscues. In addition, the first chapter is setting the stage for the relationship that will most likely be the crux of the book. I somehow can't picture a 15 year old having the kind of depth of thought that this kid has...I taught 15 year olds once. BUT, maybe they've changed since the Dark Ages

Ok so now i'm really confused. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? What this all an elaborate plan to get rid of two people? I don't completely understand. I see the relationships- Tate and Frankie, Tate and Jude. But Jude's role in Frankie succeeding, I'm at a lost. I hate when books confuse me.

I'm struggling to understand the point of the story.

I'm a little concerned because this book includes vicious torture followed by insane tender moments that end with orgasms. I'm not sure how one can think of sex after having acid stopped on their skin or after being beaten with a cat-o'-nine tails with barbed wire on the ends, but these two certainly do. Even though I find this disturbing- I'm enjoying the story and continue to read because I want to know the ending.
