The Last Voyage of Skidbladnir: 3* Saga joined the Skidbladnir crew to fix things. Skidbladnir is growing and needs a new shell/building, but the captain wants to sell her for meat. With the engineer Novik, Saga plans a coup and flees with the empty ship. After some travelling, Saga claims the ship as her own and calls herself the captain.

Planetstuck: 3* Aran is a sex worker who also sells information for money. He tracks down Broyce after he dropped a coin from Aran's home planet, who went offline a long time ago. Broyce offers to take him back there, but Aran shoots down Broyce's ship because of his most recent partners (two military men). He leaves them to sort things out. All the stations and planets are connected with portals, except whenoffline.

The Justified: 2* Reread, I'm understanding things better the 2nd time, but there's still a lot of unexplained stuff. Het has spent 50+ years hunting alone on the ice, she is recalled by the Sovereign who wants her to eliminate thoughts of revolution. She starts slaying the Justified (those that get resurrected when they die, as opposed to the single-lived). It gave [D] an opportunity to overthrow the Sovereign.

A Voyage to Quennsthroat: 3* Not told chronologically. The whole isn't really satisfying to me, but I would read more. Narrator was growing plums on a moon. Boys attacked her, she beated them. Then [Lamb V and his Pure Law] arrive and she decides to save the youngest boy, who wants to become a woman like her. She will be the new Empress, after two years at Queensthroat. They flee together.

A Good Heretic: 4* Mas didn't become a proper Pair. She pretends for years, until revealing it to her captain. They become close friends, until Mas is experiencing the first sign of the Wane. They travelled to Arun where Mas takes the cure to kill the Whisperer. The end doesn't make it clear if Mas stayed on Arun, I hope she didn't.

The Old Dispensation: 2* Very hard to follow. The Exilarch sent Shemesh to kill down a prophet who maybe was a robot. Shemesh came back carrying spores that infect the Exilarch. I think.
