Status Updates From Embergold

The biggest thing for me right now is the fact that her dad‘s actively trying to kill the dragon. Someone she cares about and she still wants him to know that she’s alive. And she’s willing to risk everything to make sure he knows and I’m like he’s abusive. He’s killed dozens of people And you want him to know what exactly. I can’t do it. She’s too stupid and naïve.

Plus for being nearly 50% of the book nothing has happened and there’s been no explanation for pretty much anything. Like it’s supposed to be intense, but there’s just something so offputting about this book. Maybe it’s a lack of characters that there’s only like four people, but I just cannot anymore. I’m just so done

I tried to like this book and I got into it but reading it just now it’s not interesting anymore. The pacing is weird as it constantly feels like the book is ending. And the main girls obsession with her dad is weird. He abused you and pretty much sold you away to a dragon and a part of you still wants to run to him. I’m just confused by that and honestly it’s aggravating to me

I’m reading the sample and I’m intrigued but somehow every book that I’ve read the sample it stays interesting until just after the sample and I end up not finishing it. So I’m praying this one doesn’t do me dirty.

i really hope this picks up soon…it’s just dragging on…and…on…
