Jeg er glad for, at forfatteren tydeligvis er bevidst om, at det meste af bogen bare har været en romance, og fokus kun har været på det. Murder mystery aspektet blev lagt til side. Det var rart, at se kongen put ord på, hvor lort de her karakterer har været til at opklare mysteriet. Det meste af tiden har de været melodramatiske og haft sex.

Okay I get Shan's motivations, she wants to change things because of the xenophobia she dealt within the upperclass society but it rings a little hollow because I haven't seen her so far be treated poorly because of that? I'm constantly being told over and over again that other nobles look down on her for being mixed, etc. but it honestly sounds like it's because of how low her familial standing is with the king?
