Status Updates From The Sleeper Wakes

The entire first half of this book is literally just this man waking up and figuring out what’s going on. Wells is certainly an imaginative world-builder, but there is both so much and absolutely nothing going on at the same time here.

“He had already seen enough to realize that the ancient antithesis of luxury, waste and sensuality on the one hand and object poverty, on the other still prevailed. He knew enough of the essential factors of life to understand that correlation.”

Had to read Chapter 5 a couple times over to try and visualise the structure of this futuristic London. Enjoying this so far.
