Someone carve this prose into my fucking retinas

The protagonist is so infuriatingly appaling, leaving their 'big love' in the worst possible moment of her life and on top of that pretending it to be a grand altruistic thing.
I had to force myself to read on because the writing is fantastic

“and so the word was made flesh. samuel became elgin and sarah did not die”. i’m in love with the visceral nature of her voice.

“let me be diced carrot, vermicelli, just so that you will take me in your mouth”. okayyy??? why do i kinda dig that….

“you never give away your heart; you lend it from time to time.” love is loss, because a heart cannot ever be what it once was before loving.

“why is the measure of love loss?” because love is loss, and yet we ache for it as much as for the outcome. we ache to feel, for if we not, we’re nothing.

“if what i feel is not precise than should i call it love?” is love definite at all? this face is a punch on the face lecture on love. best therapy for the hopeless romantic that i am i must say.
