Status Updates From El libro de las puertas

The concept of these books and the power that they hold is really interesting. BUT we’ve spent almost half of the book just hearing about them. I just keep waiting for something to happen and I’m getting bored. I understand that there’s a need for world building, but it isn’t very interesting to me. I’m wondering if the ending will feel rushed because it’s taking so long to get to any real challenges.
