Beautifully written and deeply emotional start to the book. I am so impressed and immersed already. Hoping it continues to stay at this level of engagement for me, or even get better.

This has (and consistently does so) sparked so many ideas, memories, and thoughts for me whilst reading. It’s clearly relatable, and I appreciate the relativity of this story to my own childhood in ways I seem to have forgotten. Brings back some distant feelings of youth, and continues to feel like a comfort as I read and reflect on it. Banger.
