Reading this because Wesley Hill referenced it in his class. Just finished Warner’s discussion - and rejection - of the quest for queer people to be “normal.” He says no one was concerned about being “normal” until we became obsessed with statistics and he rightly points out that being “normal” in the statistical majority sense says nothing about the VALUE (or if add ethics) of being “normal.”
