I'm having trouble with a devotional that contradicts the bible. I love learning more about God but when you're words don't match the scripture you're trying to teach what good is it? I always thought devotions were supposed to help you understand God's word. I'm not totally contradict it and rewrite it.

The word Jesus used for 'dog' with the SyroPhoenician woman was 'kunarion', 'puppy'. The only places in the Bible where this word is used is in the accounts of Jesus and this woman.

'Kuon', 'dog', is what Gentiles were called derisively at the time.

Samuel says that Eli's sons died before the famous first encounter with God, when he heard someone calling him, went to Eli, and it ended up being God.

Phineas and Hophni died after this, and Eli died immediately on hearing about it, and the ark. Am I forgetting other sons Eli had, that died before God told Samuel about the coming judgment?
