Status Updates From Alley Kat Blues

Just starting

Such a bittersweet way for a case to end. Amber Echo is truly the scum of the earth. I don't blame Kat for being pissed off.

I knew something was rotten about Amber and it had nothing to do with the booze and cigarette odors in the strip bars.

This book is certainly in no short supply of asshole villains who could be potential suspects. Robert Corwin, Ezra Dillard, Orson Dillard, and whoever's following Kat around in the Thunderbird playing pranks on her. I know only one person can be the murderer, but can we just shoot all of these unpleasant assholes instead of just one?

You know which characters from this book would make the perfect annoying couple? Robert Corwin and Amber Echo. She has a tight ass and he IS a tight ass. I know they're from different states, but I'm sure some fan fiction author would love to make it happen.

I know Kat has a policy on not giving up on her loved ones, but I believe she should make an exception for Hank a.k.a. Douche-a-Sauris Rex.

I'm a huge fan of Kat's smart-ass dialogue, both as she's narrating the story and interacting with other characters. Wisecracking seems to be a hallmark of hard-boiled detective stories.

I love how detective novel narrators feel the need to point out that the procedures in the book are nothing like what you see in TV shows or movies. Alley Kat Blues would obviously be another example of this.
