This is one of those books that I would love to see made into a series. It is giving major Masterpiece Classic vibes. Think Call the Midwife.
Also, kudos to Juliette Fay for the blistering and utterly realistic portrayal of domestic violence. I don’t often see a book that writes such violence in its true form and terror, but this author is not afraid to do so. Go Juliette Fay!

I had kind of set this book aside and forgot about it. I am glad I picked it back up. This is really excellent historical fiction. I love following the lives of women in the early days of women in the workplace, and the narratives of Billie and Charlotte are just so rich, vivid, and realistic. So so good so far!

I’m really enjoying this book so far. I like a good historical fiction now and again.
