This is absolutely the weakest book in the Twin Crowns universe.
So much telling and not enough showing.

I never thought I'd miss Wren Greenrock but I need one character who doesn't sound like she's auditioning for Pride and Prejudice.

Marino really flew out the palace window like Prince Charming in Cinderella III.

If you get that reference, you get it.

I feel like if you're voicing an audiobook from a series, you should maybe try to emulate how characters sound in that series?

Dear God, the voices in this book are so overdramatic.

Someone explain what exactly happened to Shen Lo's accent? Thankfully he's only in the first few chapters because man sounds someone told him it was International Talk Like a Pirate Day and he said "that's every day for me."

Nearly done.

This is definitely a book with writing in it.

Dialogue is either clunky exposition or all sounds the same. So much telling and zero showing.

Lana is sweet, and thankfully she's a kind-hearted baker and not a sword-swinging girlboss.

Kira the mermaid is... definitely a character in this book.

I think I'm more concerned about Celeste than Marino tbh.

I'm listening to this on Audible and I am 04:08:21 hours in. I don't know the percentage of that. I'mma say about half-way.

Marino needs to get his ass in gear tbh.
