Status Updates From I Hope You Remember: Poems ...

Last poem 💕 One day u will find the courage without the wine. & the confidence without the reassurance. & the love for ur-self without the acceptance of others. U will find peace in the middle of day. & a diff unit of measurement than comparison. One day u will find ur-self & u won’t even be looking. U will realize u’ve been there all along. Just a lil out of sight. & u will forget u were ever gone. I promise

“Being an adult feels like someone forgot to test you, and just threw you into the deep end of the pool. And everyone around you seems like they have a wristband; like they’re meant to be there. And you’re just barely treading water, and trying to keep your head above it all, so you don’t sink. …. And even though they told you they have wristbands, they don’t. ….” Everyone out here is struggling 🙈

“And the whole “being human” thing? Well, that goes away eventually. We will all have our time. And our time will come to an end. But the discomfort (and relatability) of being human, never goes away.” So maybe be a little kinder and have more patience with yourself, we all make mistakes and go through our own processes.

It’s sweating the small stuff because everything matters to you. Do you know how special it is to care as much as you do? … And I know you’re tired of caring so much ….”

“The next time you look at your beautiful body and begin to shake your head in disbelief, please don’t do it with anything but a smile on your face. Let it be disbelief that this beautiful body has taken you this far.” ❤️
