Status Updates From The Wrong Mentor

I gave it 100 pages and no, it’s a DNF for me. It is so sexist, these men are morons and him, he’s a complete dick. All the talk about stock markets and deals is boring. Not my thing at all.

Not sure about this one. Bad smell in the basement, thumping from the trunk of the car and obligated to work for 2 summers and carry out monthly ‘tasks’ for 4 years. Seems a bit obvious he’s a fucking killer or torturer or something and he’s just roped himself into helping him out. Also the writing is a bit stilted and how can you see someone smirk on the phone?

It is a good book. It needs a lot of work, grammar and storyline progression wise. I think it is marketed incorrectly. This is not a thriller. It’s more of a psychological financial drama. I feel like he could’ve done more with the thriller aspect if that’s the route, he wants to go with it. I don’t know if the author is of Asian background, but it feels like they’re stereotyping
