Those are literally the two biggest well known cultures where family stays over. Even if you do not want them to... Unrealistic.

The pacing is off in this story. I am enjoying myself so do not mind it that much.

This is going to sound horrible but he is Black right? Did they put him into a White foster family? His internal voice sounds... Not-Black. I am aware that this is deeply problematic and horrible to say but at the same time I think if you know, you know what I mean.

This happened with another book in which the main character had anxiety. Apparently this is where I have trouble finding some empathy (just act normal!) Not a nice discovery... 😬

OK, yo so I was on a break and I just started reading this book actually today and wow it’s so interesting. I am 27% in and finally we are reading from the POV of the MNC. I can feel the heat in this book building alreadyand there is a fake dating truck and fake marriage truck that has been set up already and guess what your girl is so excited.

I hate every single interaction with Vanessa's family. They're rude and dismissive of any of this 34 y.o. woman's choices.

Wait, so they have a swear jar at home for the adult children (ages 37 - 21) but are totally ok with smacking people in the head with fly swatters and constantly purposefully excluding family members by speaking in a language you know they dont know. What an amazing, loving family dynamic 😬
