Status Updates From Dialogue Books The Shoulder...

Chapter 5 was really good, it took me a while to read it bc of my schedule and I could never get a chunk of time to read it without stopping.

Baby steps towards justice and the resilience and determination I read about these leaders and activists is just amazing. Also insane about the lies police share like be so for real for some of these lies lol. Anyway taking. A break bc time for FALL READS :) 🤎

Taking me longer to read which makes me want to read a different book in the meantime but ik i won’t finish it if i do lol. It’s good though just a lot!

Currently reading bout the Indian Workers Association (IWA) and their experiences and fight throughout the ‘50s and ‘60. Wow is really my reaction learning about everything they’ve gone through.

I scrunch my nose while reading this. It's sadly not surprising bc it's very similar to US. still saddening. There are all these Bills, Laws and Acts that are being created and implemented but actually not protecting POCs like the gov thinks they are. Makes me want to do a deep dive into US more but also that's depressing so....we'll see. Baby doses

Wowza. Very informative so this book will be covering 10 movements, campaigns, & organizations led by Black & Brown people from ‘60s-‘80s fighting against racism & capitalism.

UK’s racism is basically the equivalent to “there is no war in Ba Sing Se” iykyk.

- “Britain likes to pretend it is not a racist country”
- “Britain is in fact so racist it doesn’t think it’s racist”

excited to read and learn about the history. I know there is racism in the UK, not as blatant or out in the open as US sometimes.

Probably not prepared for the heartaches and hardship that went on. But I am looking forward to learning about what is happening to continue to fight against the hate and racism.
