“fairies” — 3. i can’t stand it when the main character is relentlessly bullied. even more so when the comeuppance sounds lame.

Currently over halfway through and loving these so much! It's nice to have an anthology with similar length stories so I can snack.
I'm appreciating the psychological and social aspects of these stories- women being taught to fear, domestic abuse, racial profiling, broken families.
Notable stories I liked so far were Shade, The Smiling African Uncle and Carcinization. But the standout to me was Fruiting Bodies

“the smiling african uncle” — 4.5. grim. and i wouldn’t be surprised if this new immigration process makes its way into real life.
