That realization took a while!
This book builds up slowly. The setting of a reality TV dating show is quite suitable for that. It's like a countdown when the 'dates' are sent home one by one.

Dating app gone through beta testing already where couples have even started a relationship. And yet the user profile of the app as yet to be developed? WTF? How does that work?
So is that at all relevant to the story? Very likely not - But I tend to notice things like that and focus on them. It's just annoying little details don't add up.
