This book was a 3 ⭐️ book up until the ‘NDE’ (not really) described at the end. I was almost moved to 😭 which speaks to the writers ability to capture her story.

Death brought out the best in us (Carol). In the face of death, we discover what really matters. Daily contact with death proves perspective on it every day life that was refreshingly candid and clear. Intensified her life

Lots of history that enhances’ the story but in my opinion digresses from the story in too much detail. I find myself looking to reconnect with Carol and her life on Cumberland

Great bit on 🐢 generally than more specifically sea 🐢 journey. Apparently, Carol’s species
