Oi vey
The 🙄 of the immediate diss in the descs of anyone who *dares* to ask questions abt the main characters - they’re automatically low quality ppl not up to the measure, worthy of being threatened + if they don’t like some1 or feel uncomfortable w/them, they’re obviously jealous🙄- the next thing is calling ppl betas
And this is the kind of thing that got me before - the level of nuance lacking

Addictive story I’ll admit, even though I find some things a bit annoying. Fun listen

It pulled me in
The accents the narrator is using to distinguish between characters are ridiculous though and semi-offensive for the stereotypes they build on

This feels stupid. I understand what it is accomplishing for the plot, but EVERYones makes a HUGE fuss about Meg and Meg's safety anytime she so much as sneezes or has some facial expression they don't understand but suddenly it's possible for her to get kidnapped. Right under everyone's nose. The book didn't need this part and I don't like the way it's handled.

Officers, we have shots fire and a right truth bomb delivered by a human woman to a wolf. Who took a step back. Damn. It took the author a long time to set up scenes like this but this might be my favourite book of the series yet! The other books aren't bad but this now feels like really good writing.

What in the ever-loving fudge is this? Simon doesn't tell Meg some humans are going to steal food at night and he's going to eat them. Obviously. Now Meg is questioning if she's done something wrong, if Simon is angry, if their relationship is broken beyond repair, if they broke up (not that they are officially dating) - what nonsense overreaction is that? How can she be in a relationship with issues like this???

LOL. How far I have come... From complaining about TI eating humans to laughing at "special meat" jokes. Helps that the victim is Cyrus. Feels right somehow.

This is something I just don't understand - everyone knows Cyrus is "bad" and they are only letting him stay around for Important TI Reasons but people still, in my opinion, pander to him. Giving him food from the potluck just because he stomped his foot??? Monty KNOWS his brother and he still doesn't actually... he reacts, he makes compromises... he tries to save him. WHY??

This is such an under-used enjoyable trope for this whole series - seeing the Terra Indigenes interact with humans in... a cute way. Humans reading Wolf Team books and laughing at wolves playing, Simon respecting Berk as a worthy "alpha"... Sad to see it take some focus only in the last book of the series.

I don't wanna jinx it but... I am liking Simon in this part. He is almost not annoying and he is doing some good things for the plot and the characters. A positive force in the book.

I really dislike humans/characters like Cyrus but they also show the unfortunate side of TI's nature - they may be described as predators, I'll eat you if I want to kind of dangerous, but then trouble starts and they are all just... trying to hold on to their tempers. Their danger/violence/actions are not the result of fierness or even choice way too often.

Let me guess, Buddy is a dog or a cat. And he's completely ignoring the part about actual problems between the leaders? I guess Simon is contagious.

Wau, tell me we're in America without telling me this would be America. Ethnically homogenous neighbourhoods, like, say, a Chinatown, making up the whole of Lakeside? Where else could that be?

Yes, this is it! Twila teaching Eliot some manners. Simple and without using force, just teaching basic courtesy by example and with silence. A great character.

Funnily enough, I feel like Twila is the perfect human to deal with The Others. She is not stupid, she is not especially brave or skilled, she is just a mother, a no-nonsense woman who assessed the situation and just does what needs to be done, no fuss, no drama.

Now that's a wonderfully complex question - how can she know what cards to discard? Just because she didn't use a certain card in one or two or twenty readings doesn't mean she won't use it in her 50th reading, no? The only thing that would help is if she can use her tingles to find the extra cards she doesn't need, which would be ironic, to say to least.

Just realized the solution her to not have racism in your book is to insert someone much worse than a human with a different skin. Sounds somehow both true and tragic.

Wau, of course - Simon is angry when upset, nothing new here AND he blames everyone but himself for Meg being upset. I told you to stop making Simon such a guy.

Right, Meg still can't have emotions without Simon thinking he has to deal with them himself and insert himself into her thought process and her emotions. Why is privacy, right?
