Tolkien writes two towers and return of the king so interestingly… instead of doing everything chronologically he tells the entire story of one group (Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, Merry, Pippin) and then starts all over again from the beginning for the second group (Sam, Frodo) I haven’t rly seen that in fantasy before 😭

okay it’s just a little interesting to me how the previous descriptions of the orcs made it seem like they were some mindless goblin type creatures. but now pippin is a witness to them interacting with each other and they’re like….pretty intelligent? i also didn’t realize they’re a whole species? or whatever? but like they speak english 🧍‍♀️wtf

Took a bit longer than expected, but I am done now with Book Three. Book Four will follow the Ring again for a little while, tho it is a good bit shorter than I expected / remember in comparison by page count. Even so, I plan to go through that this weekend!
