The Geckomancer's Lament: 3* A gecko, a centaur, Oberon king of the fay and a nyanga are travelling together to kill someone who wronged them all. Unclear if the gecko is actually a member of the group or just imagining they are, since they don't seem to ear them. The gecko eats them at the end, thinking it will be able to bring them back to life once they are a full necromancer. A bit weird.

Ancestor Heart: 3* Malik inherits his great-grandfather's heart when he is born. His heart calms people's anger but it burns him. He finds love with Kuro, but is married to a woman to get a son. He is raising his son differently. At the end, he becomes a grandfather and Kuro dies, but things have changed, if I understand things correctly.

On the Water Its Crystal Teeth: 3* Some sort of big change happened in the world, left unexplained. A woman who lives alone finds a turtle boy, brings him home. He disappears for a while, then comes back.

Null Path Catalog: I don't know enough about poetry to know the original poem.

Twice Every Day Returning: DNF Something about the writing doesn't work for me. It's word salad and they forgot the dressing to make it whole.

Anansi Braids Your Stepson's Hair: not rating poetry. I like some of the imagery here, many spider-related words.

Woodmask: 2* Leskia's dad loose all their money and disappears. She is left begging on the street, people are cruel. She goes into the Wood for wood. She finds the mask of an Indweller, disguises herself as one to beg and makes more money. A girl figures out what she is doing, puts on the real mask and becomes an Indweller. Leskia runs after them at the end, to become one herself?

A Book Is a Map, a Bed Is a Country: 3* I like the imagery, but there is not really a plot here.
