"We call them witches", but like ... why? They are basically mutated animals.

This is really boring and basic so far. And I have no hopes that it will get any better.

AHHH my first ARC read

Maybe it's because I liked the A Quiet Place movies that I'm vibing so far

This boring ass book is like that shitty M. Night Shyamalan film

This reads like every other post-apocalyptic family drama with hints of horror and I'm so bored 😴

"A head came first, human but naked of emotion, eyes open and unseeing. The rest of the body followed, only none of it looked properly attached. It was like someone had stapled different parts of a body together, paperclipping on ears, fingers, all of them backward or twisted, wrong. ... Its lower half was draped in bin bags, like a long skirt, only the plastic seemed to be welded to its skin."

One chapter down and this book might just bring me out of my reading slump 🙇‍♀️
