I am captivated. I didn't realize this is like a cast-of-characters book and I was a little unsettled by the first few chapters jumping through time and POVs but once I had read all of them, I desperately need to know more about how they link up. Stayed up too late reading last night, already looking forward to reading more tonight.

Holyyyyy shit. Shane was Lucy?!?! Also, that was definitely Murdock trying to warn her the house was rigged to blow. So.... who is Tinkerbell? Is that Coral? What does Keeper's (former) dealer know? This is so good, how does it wrap in 200 pages???

What is Jackie up to???? Anyway, stopped midway through Keeper's chapter. My back is positively screaming and I'd like to go to bed to stop feeling this constant backstabbing. But damn do I wish I could keep reading!

Holy fuck. This book is sucking me in. It was a bit of a slow start but goddamn is it all coming to a head. I have never at any point in this book been able to predict what happens in the next chapter, and I love it. The political undertones are far too familiar and are, at times, quite chilling in their realism. I can't wait to pick this back up tomorrow... if I have time.

Wow, this book has really taken a dark and disturbing turn... and I can't pull myself away. Some of these scenes are quite grisly and I can feel my stomach twist, a feeling the King himself never even inspired in me when I was a kid devouring his books. It took to about the midpoint, but damn this is solidly good and crazy compelling.

I officially am at the point of liking this book and feeling addicted. The writing about Tony's harrowing experiences with the LA fires were quite compelling and also scary. I have to say, I do think this author does a good job with the socio-political commentary as well.

This is actually getting good. There's still one character sort of dangling on the side that I can't fully place... but I think everyone else has at least referenced one another/something relevant. Also, this book is really fucking topical and scary. Great political commentary, I think.
