Status Updates From Lust for life: A novel of V...

So far it seems like a hackneyed take on Jack London's Martin Eden with a Van Gogh lens...its alright but I dont know what sort of fictional wizardry its gonna take for me to not be a bit crotchety about this book.

Vincent no longer felt the burning desire to paint. He felt he’s said all he has to say. Whenever he would, he would simply feel indifferent toward the picture. He kept wondering when his next attack would arrive. He worries he would be a burden to Theo who was going to lose his job, and has a family to look after. So Vincent shoots himself. He dies with Theo by his side. Theo dies a while after. Sad.

Vincent has finally arrived back in Paris and he met his nephew. His fellow artists came to welcome him back. He saw Theo had been saving all of his sketches and letters. He finally met with Doctor Gachet who would be watching over him. Vincent was taken to the place where he would stay.

Vincent kept having episodes at the asylum. He lost the will to paint. His brother wrote to him that he had a boy now, and that someone bought a painting from him for 400 francs. This news inspired Vincent to start painting again. Vincent learned his episodes were caused by the religious nuns around him. His brother suggested he move to Auvers where it is more peaceful. Vincent decides to leave back to Paris.
