Status Updates From The Pilgrim's Regress

Oh. My. Goodness. My edition contains C. S. Lewis’s “Preface to the Third Edition,” and it should be required reading for anyone and everyone reading Lewis. It’s completely brilliant. It outlines his understanding of “Romanticism” (7 different connotations of that word/concept!), as well as his desire for eternity that lead him to God, as well as the dangers of extremism and how they feed each other.

Very excited to be reading this Lewis for the first time, together with Faith’s Theology Book Club!

Okaaay...

This book is a fever dream.
Our main character wakes up one night to be invited by someone standing outside his window to drink champagne and talk philsophy with several impish children named Karl (Marx), Herbert (Spencer), Benedict (Spinoza), Rudolph (Steiner), Immanuel (Kant), and Bernard (Bosanquet).
So weird.
