Status Updates From The Rigor of Angels: Borges...

Now halfway into the book. The books succeeds already if it is the author’s goal to spark an interest in the question of what is knowable about reality. So far, I’m not convinced; I’m inspired and motivated to read more on the subject. Beautiful book.

Interesting!
These last two chapters on Kant and Heisenberg have been the most interesting.

​Good first section. It provides a helpful framing for Kant's metaphysics, especially when viewed against the empiricism of Hume and Locke.

The eternal questions of agency. Egginton does a pretty good job of making the argument for free will, despite outside observers' abilities to predict action. Just because someone says you will do something and you do it does not mean that you were compelled to do it. Seems logical on the face of it, but deterministically-minded people love to argue against this logic.
