In book 3, Xander and Ash have a 21 year age gap. In this book, Ash is 42 and Xander is 22 so 20 years. In the last book, Xander was 20 so is this 2 years later???

Well, much like the last book, this one is another master class in rewriting everyone's characterization on a whim vs making them feel like actual real people with consistent personalities throughout the series. That, plus the abundance of repetitive tell-not-show info dumps, is seriously getting on my nerves. (Yes, Ash, we get it. You've been emotionally fucked up by your out-of-the-blue millionaire/criminal father)
