I truly would have never guessed. Pandora’s box has been added to the equation. I am excited to see where this goes as Pandora acknowledges that she will not be able to avoid opening the box forever. However, I have a suspicion that this tool made by Zeus to ensure the destruction of humankind, will be put to a much different use. What that use is, I can’t yet see. Intriguing.

Oh, Athena, I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you.Her acting like she cared for Pandora when her real goal was to get Prometheus’s prophecy is heartbreaking, but understandable.She has to put aside compassion in order to set up the circumstances that lead to Zeus’s dethronement.The idea that Pandora was made through Métis’s thought and thus is the child prophesied to overthrow Zeus is fascinating.

Matheos really embodying the meme “talk disrespectful about my wife and I will kill you” to Prometheus. Pandora and Matheos are terrible at pretending to hate each other, the Olympians must be dumb or blind to not see the sexual tension in the room. Prometheus gives me trolley problem vibes in letting whole generations of humans die in the hope of Zeus’s downfall. Well time to face the music up on Olympus.

THEY FINALLY KISSED. Only to then immediately decide that they have to pretend to hate each other so the gods won’t punish both of them, I see no way of this going wrong. Meanwhile, Athena continues to be the best of the gods by warning Pandora as well as formulating a plan for Pandora to question Prometheus. I loved Matheos helping Pandora while she panicked and I am fascinated by the humans reaction to Pandora.

Epimatheos is a bundle of guilt, from disregarding his brother’s worry to work in Hephaestus’s forge which ultimately gets him deafened,to providing the stalk Prometheus used to steal fire,as well as, standing guard while he performed the act.However, he feels most responsible for Prometheus fate as he couldn’t leave the animals without protection which led to Prometheus stealing fire for the humans protection.

Such a complicated relationship between Hesione, Prometheus, and Epimatheos. Prometheus clearly loves and wants to protect his brother,however believes he knows best and strong arms Matheos into going along with his plan. Thus hiding his involvement, taking away Matheos ability to be independent and stand by his own choices. Meanwhile, Hesione is resentful that only Prometheus took blame.

Oh, these poor emotionally dumb people, trying to pretend you don’t have feelings for each other will never work, especially when you keep getting so close to one another, they almost kissed for gods sake. I am infatuated by Pandora learning she loves Matheos through his kindness to the animals and delight in her willingness to tear down Olympus to stop them from even touching Epimatheos.

I am extremely conflicted about Hesione as I feel awful that she has been forced into such a wretched situation, what with the imprisonment of her husband, however I also feel a level of contempt for her as she berates both Matheos and Pandora. You shouldn't take your pain out on others and while Matheos may have been in on the plan, Pandora is a poor girl doing her best in a situation she was forced into.

Who doesn’t love the trope of being forced to be vulnerable with someone due to being trapped in a locked cupboard, I certainly do.Furthermore, I am also captivated by the notion that while the humans, especially human women, are suffering to the gods, the water nymphs are growing fearful for their safety as well, bolstered by stories like Callisto’s. Pandora tending to Matheos’s injury was heartwarmingly cute.

I find it fascinating that the novel acknowledges that though the gods can be abominably vile they made Pandora with consideration, a hopeful heart, the ability to speak, and the gift of art. Therefore, Pandora believes that "if Zeus sent me for some nefarious purpose, I'd see it as my duty to the gods who gave me a whisper of kindness to fight against it" (Page 131). Putting a stop to the continuation of violence.

Athena continues to be just the best of Olympus, from helping Cassandra in The End Crowns All, to sympathising with Pandora and now ultimately encouraging Pandora's curiosity.l adore Pandora's drive to discover the purpose of her creation and subsequent gifting to Epimatheos. Although I understand Epimatheos’s hesitation and distrust of Pandora.I do wish he would give the girl some grace.Love Prometheus backstory.
