Status Updates From Facing Off

Overall I think this book could’ve used some better editing and maybe cut out some of the fat. In the end the fact that FMC was finally fully loved and seen by mmc and given the love she never received made it all worth the read

With her with matching tshirts and all felt like overkill. Plus they didn’t really fix her only told her what she already knew which was that it was emotional. The spice was good I liked how the author spread it out. But it felt like the author was trying to fit so much in with this book with side characters and their observations and input about MCs. There was a whole lot of info on mmc being captain and trying to save his team members from being trading which I felt was unnecessary and just over done. The story about his friend dying and his survivors guilt was good however and I loved to see the mcs relationship grow by supporting one another. The FMC yips storyline felt a bit uneven. Him hiring the teams experts and them actually having time or card to work

I went back and forth on this book. On one hand this had a trope I liked pining golden retriever mmc and black cat FMC but it was all over the place at times. FMC was a foster kid who was ignored by her guardians her foster brother went back to his family so she felt abandoned and refused to make deeper connections. Mmc was a fboy who changed his ways because he crushed heavy on FMC
