Status Updates From Starship Troopers

Jesus fucking CHRIST we can’t go one chapter without a hate crime. Not even a page into the final chapter and Heinlein refers to an Indigenous American as looking “just as harmless as his scalp-hunting ancestors” I’m so glad Heinlein is dead.

I didn't think the movie would be a perfect adaptation of the book and god I hate how right I am about it. This book is a fucking *slog* with all of the procedure I've had to sit through. It's just a bunch of "yes sir" and "no sir" and wandering around. Could have called this "Space Boot Camp" and it would be a more accurate title than "Starship Troopers"

Fun Fact: Did you know that Starship Troopers is narrated by Richard Reed, who also did narration for a bunch of the Warhammer books?

This has nothing to do with Heinlein's atrocious world-building, just a neat treat for me as I listen to this book to prep for DMing Warhammer

What is this, the sixth time Heinlein has gone off about how women are only in the military to be pretty, motivate the "ACTUAL" soldiers, and fly planes because they're "biologically" more graceful and spacially aware than men?
