Darkseid is dead. His shockwaves send anomalies across the universe. The Challengers are each tasked by Mr. Terrific to investigate along with a Justice Leaguer. First, Ace Morgan & Superman are deployed to Mars to check a glass barrier anomaly. Ace experiences a trace in which he sees alternate realities of himself. Superman cuts a piece of the glass to be analyzed back at the Watchtower.
