At night the ppl do work around the island and the plan is they’ll build the new civilization then serve the humans

Ben was found having done advanced mathematical drawings in the dirt

Clara and Emory head to Adil’s cabin

Thea started to doubt her mentor Niema when she saw she wasn’t saving scientists or teachers but billionaires, autopsy shows she was bested to death and Thea’s missing fingernail is in her mouth

Samples prove that both Niema and Hui were attacked at the bird bath, Ben’s blood shows no abnormalities

Emory is on the case, heads to Cauldron Garden w Thea who tells her she’s not human and they are grown on trees, before the Damon Niema created these products to fight wars in human’s stead, the 149 humans left are sealed in capsules in Blackheath

Abi says the deadman’s switch also req the culprit doesn’t survive so Thea and H have to solve who is the murderer thus the switch req will be met and Abi can bring the barrier back up so they tell the two to speak w Emory

Emory is taking samples of soil/blood when they arrive, says the birdbath was moved 13 ft over to cover up the scene of a crime

Hephaestus says there’s a deadman’s switch that turns off the barrier if Niema’s heart stops in order to deter violence when first taking in refugees and looks like it’s down now so the fog will claim the island in 48 hrs

The deadman’s switch was turned off yrs ago so H thinks N reinstalled it last night thinking her life was in danger, he thinks once the villagers learned the truth of the island, Adil murdered her

Clara goes to her estranged mom Emory about missing Hui, tells her N was holding the box when she left last night

E says that N did an experiment last night (cuz lab equip is in diff places) then they woke up for a celebration then their memories were wiped on Niema’s orders which in turn killed the ppl they found since it’s dangerous, so whatever happened last night was dangerous enough to risk wiping memories

The official story is there was a fire, Niema woke 7 islanders to help and they all perished in it but Emory doesn’t agree since Niema has a wound, Abi basically tells Adil she’s the only one capable of figuring out the truth so Adil says well distract her or else we’re all gonna die

Emory notices the edge of the fog might be coming closer?

Next morning there’s a fire and Niema’s murdered body is discovered

Clara wakes up w 5 numbers on her wrist

Thea takes Hui and Clara to the Cauldron Garden where the scientists from the island get medicines and such, all flora and fauna were created by them, Thea goes to get the baby

The two get separated and Clara hears Hui scream but when Thea comes back w the boy Ben and Hui she blatantly lies that the scream wasn’t Hui

Abi is some collective conscience built by Niema, the narrator who’s thoughts keep the islanders in check, they tell Adil where Niema is going and gives him a way there says they were created to protect the island from any threat even if that’s Niema, Abi is well aware that Adil wants to kill the elders

Hui and Clara see graffiti saying Thea (the third elder) buried them and to turn back

They’re tasked w retrieving a new child to replace her great grandfather who just died

Her grandfather is buried but his gem is missing (one that holds his recent memories) so they can’t see the unknown person he was speaking w

Magdalene is Adil’s granddaughter, says he was scholarly and polite until the boat accident during a science experiment that killed all on board but him incl Emory’s husband

E overhears Neima and her son another elder Hephaestus talking about an experiment, he’s reluctant to choose a subject saying it’s murder she says it’s a sacrifice for a bigger cause and jsut when she’s caught the curfew bell rings and she drops asleep
