I like this book so far, it's very intense. And it's crazy how the story is going so far. I'm eager to finish this book to see how everyone reacts to the story, like what Charlie and Jose say

This is fine, but boy did the Sibert committee fuck up. This is historical fiction interpolated with contemporary events (a cat accidentally sends an email during the denouement). To argue this is nonfiction is insane, and frankly it being on the Sibert’s slate diminishes the impact of the award. A real shame. Truly: what was the committee thinking?

I’m already confused. The author’s note at the back says this is fiction. So far it *reads* like fiction and there is ZERO back matter. Is the Sibert committee suddenly tasked with giving the award to historical fiction books? Even if this turns out to be brilliant: what the fuck were they thinking?
