What a humdinger of a book! I really struggled to get into it and several times lost my sense of how I got to where I was, a few times it was quite perplexing. Written in a very descriptive way which tends to meander, so it is best read without interruption if at all possible.
4 stars because of the atmospheric, flowery prose and the story itself, which sometimes was also perplexing - but it was a worthwhile read.
