This book is very captivating. I do believe the house is haunted - otherwise why am I reading it and I hope Cilo doesn’t go mad like her mother, Alex. The description is good though the lack of the initial build makes me see it more a a stereotypical rundown house like Count Olaf’s in ASOUE. Grey and dark even though described as red and like an American family home. Otherwise the horror aspect is good.
