Os 10% iniciais do livro são uma cena de ação bem in media res (acho uma estratégia meio cansada já), mas depois que ela passa a história fica mais interessante. Em Ring Shout a KKK estava envolvida com magia e ocultismo o que gerou alguns monstros que os protagonistas combatem. Tem uma pegada de horror, mas a fantasia urbana que o autor curte escrever também está presente, diria que tá 50-50.

the fight scenes are PHENOMENAL, and michael george?? DAMN!!! and sadie is so funny :( i shouldve KNOWN she wasnt gonna make it but god it SUCKS i thought she’d be a core character!! i mean, she is, but i thought she’d be that AND alive.. and the nightmare sequences and butcher clyde?? actually terrifying i wish i had the foresight to be annotating
