Status Updates From Comfortable Wife

The heroine seems to be in danger of hyperventilation throughout most of this book. I'm surprised the hero has any brows left given how much he raises them. Its a poor copy of Heyer's witty and clever plots. Read it when you are too tired to think properly.

I have to say Antonia is an idiot. I know they say those in love are fools, but she gives new meaning. Philip deserves a better heroine.

Ugh, found an error where the masculine version of the name was used. So instead of Miss Horatia Mimms, it was Miss Horatio Mimms. Bad editing.

SL has been compared to Georgette Heyer, but as I started this book it was clear to me that she is definitely not in the same league. GH was an adept author of great skill and finesse who lived, breathed and probably bled, Regency. I found this story and the characters ‘clunky’ and the author seemed to rely on sexual tension rather than the strength of the story, to keep the reader engaged. A real let down.
