Oh shot down...and she was SO cold! I am having a hard time liking Nina. Feels like she used his body for her comfort and pleasure even when he told her he didn't want to just be a distraction for her like that. Then she tells him "eat your coffee cake" like she is his mommy and un-mans him after he pours his heart out to her.

Sheesh this is depressing!!!!! This town needs to have a bonfire like on that episode of MASH when tempers flared until they burned stuff down and began to sing. Lots of telling rather than showing too. I don't want to be told there is flirting or sexual tension, I want to feel it when reading the scenes.

This is heavy on the fear and monotony and FRUSTRATION. I thought there would be more action.

No attempts on Nina's life since that first night. Lots of just daily chit chat and commentary. I need some more suspense and action.

Starts with action pretty quick. Nona just had the night from hell. Flint is great so far, except he likes bologna. ;)

"I appreciate you explaining all of this to me," Flint replied, unsure of what else to say.
- OMG, this guy is the sweetest, kindest, most patient, most understanding man I have ever seen. Completely amazing guy. A+

There were moments when she was in bed alone and he was on the sofa that she wondered why she was denying him, why she was denying herself what she wanted. What harm could come from making love with him again?
At any single moment of the day or night, Hank Bittard could be captured and her time with Flint would be over. Why not take advantage of every minute she had with him before that happened?

And in the here and now, it was much more exciting to think of being in that bed with Flint. She'd almost asked him to stay, to spend the night with her in her bed so that she could wake in his arms as dawn broke.
But she was so glad she'd fought the impulse.
- WHY?!

Her father could be charming and loving then brutal, and the lasting effect on Nina was that she wasn't sure if all men had two faces and the ugly, mean face was only shown to those who were closest to them.

- Wow, so hot, extra points! Although why she's kicking him out of bed to finish sleeping on the couch after they just made love is BEYOND ME. It's just mean.

Okay, get this: a woman was just murdered because she was the witness of a murder. They offered her protective custody and she refused. Nina just watched the woman get murdered so that she couldn't testify. Now they are offering Nina protective custody, and she is refusing. She is obviously a huge idiot.
