I don't know if I'm finishing this one truthfully. I looked ahead and there even at the halfway point the actual event or the establishing events aren't even mentioned yet.
Sometimes, an author just needs to admit that there is not enough relevant information to fill a book. I don't need a complete breakdown of the foundation of medical schools in the colony and the people involved for this story to be told.

lots of context for the state of the newly formed USA and some relevant people. at this point it seems barely related and just set dressing, but we shall see how it all falls into place when the narrative starts 👍.

Confused on why the history of a painting depicting the creation of the Treaty of Paris is relevant to the topic of this book? I’m about to start skimming this in a second 😅

After taking the body out, they would remove all the clothing and jewelry and replace it in the grave. For some reason, there were no laws in all of England or the colonies about stealing the body, but it was a felony to steal the physical property in the grave.

The most common version of how the riot started is John Hicks, Jr. saw some boys outside the anatomy lab at the New York Hospital. He decided to hang an arm out the window and say,'This is your mother's arm. I just dug her up.' One of boys mom's had just died. They discovered her body missing, and the riot ensued.
