A Pretty Flower for A Pretty Lady is really short with no speculative element but calls one to reflect on life and death.

The Thing in the Water is short but creepy. With creepy children that aren't ordinary children.

Are You Even Alive in There is a very intriguing read. No speculative element for once, but a lot of emotion and a taste of the forbidden.

The Child Breathes has me very curious and I'd love to read more of the word as it felt like it was much too short and ended too abruptly. Or maybe I just want more mother's love stories on account of having my new tiny human haha!

The Thing with the Stars ends in a cliffhanger, how dare??? But I love these "am I going mad or is this really happening" stories wrapped in emotional turmoil (plus absent parent issues, for this one).

What Was Meant to be Buried gave me the shivers. A look into dark minds and the thoughts beneath. Damn.

The third story, Somewhere Far From Here, is painful and sad. I can't pretend to know what it's like to be a victim of abuse, but I can imagine it being like as it happens in that story.

The second story, Monsters, is short but profound and haunting. I love there being speculative elements in the stories yet the themes and issues pertain to the real world.

Carla is a new to me author and I love her writing style! The first story captured my attention from the first line. Didn't expect that story to go the way it did, so yeah I enjoyed it.

I was planning to read one story a day but I have to start the next one now!
