The schemes and the lack of communication between the men and women is really getting downright annoying. I give the romance a few more pages, and then I am giving up.

Still I do not understand that need for a man to declare that he loves a woman. I do begin to see how much it means to a woman to hear the declaration. Men, it appears, simply assume that their actions adequately show their love.

I simply cannot understand the woman's need to hear her beloved declare himself with the words, I Love You. As if that be some magic formula, or key, to her virtue.
