Status Updates From Some Like It Scot

Yes I’m aware this is the cringiest title ever

At over half way in, I’m a little bored. It still feels like we’re in the first stage of the novel. There is a lot of the characters’ inner monologue processing thoughts & feelings that is feeling one note.

Here’s my problem with this book (yes, already): I’m not even 1/5 of the way in and there is SO MUCH “tell” and SO LITTLE “show,” I’m not sure I’m going to be able to finish. The narrators are good but the MMC just info-dumped his Tragic Backstory instead of it gradually and naturally being woven into the story. Who wants that??
