Stronger second half than the beginning which was meandering. You can tell it’s filler since they really really didn’t have the substance for a full novel like this. Teetering between 3-4 I’m gonna go with 3 but it definitely gave me a lot to think about

“Gloria died in pain, in a foreign place, far away from her children”
This shit hits really hard and does drive home how harmful these scams actually are. She could’ve died at home surrounded by friends and family and comfortably went to sleep :(

I believe I’ve spoken to the exact type of people her parents are on the phone at work. Lonely crazies who just ramble about nonsense unrelated to the call. No wonder she’s all messed up lmfao 😭
Honestly it’s a huge red flag she moved out at like age 12 that is not a sign of a happy home life

It all didn’t even make her that much money 😭
I’m telling u I agree w the assessment that she wasn’t some calculating con artist she was just a compulsive liar cuz lowkey she was insanely stupid in her scam 😫 barely even tried to keep her story straight at any point

I see what people mean when they say in the reviews it doesn’t appear that her story warranted an entire novel. They go off on random tangents about wellness influencers in general and I feel like they still could’ve done that if they did like an initial background section then moved on to her story but instead they jump around in both time and focus so it’s just kinda poorly arranged
