Status Updates From Shy Girl

Trying to get this one to reflect on my Read list.

For some reason, I'm unable to rate this once I mark it finished. Weird. I decided to finish this book, despite the AI writing rumors. I was close enough to the end that I just wanted to close it up. Story itself was actually okay. Interesting. I think Gia felt a little robotic, but it was a decent arc from that to what she became. The writing itself was eh. I guess I can see those red flags.

Got this book to see what the AI claims were all about… 21 pages in an gee golly. Holy mother of unnecessary em-dashes.

And that’s coming from me – someone who loves em-dashes!!

before I start, I am against the use of AI!! so I got sent an arc of shy girl. I’m aware of all the accusations that are currently taking social media by storm- and honestly, that’s why I dropped all of my current reads to pick up this book immediately. I wanted to read my early copy, while I still had the chance, to form my own opinion & to see if I could add any to the conversations out there.
