Amazed at this book's quality. Written in the 1700's, it holds up today in 2026. The first 10% is interesting, if a bit slow. The next 75% is pitch perfect and somehow is very detailed without getting bogged down. The last 15% is a necessary wrap up for the story arc, and a bit "whatever", but overall, there is a reason this book is a classic.

The temporality of this novel is well within alignment of others in its time, being, that they seemingly decide to leap in time without a steady record of time passing.
But it is wholly appropriate in this novel seeing that he is stuck on an island with little way to keep track of time.
